Kari Star Fruit/Carambola
The Kari Carambola tree is a productive tree growing a bit smaller than the other varieties. Growing and producing well here in California it has been another greatly demanded variety here. As the tree is easily kept at a manageable size it can fit in any garden for a touch of the tropics.
The Fruit is larger than the other varieties. With a bright yellow and orange color(when ripe) and a crisp and crunchy but extremely juicy flesh it is a wonderful fruit to munch on. With a sweet and tart flavor it is great for those who like that balance of flavor and sweetness. Full of vitamins and antioxidants this fruit is not only yummy but healthy. Slicing the fruit gives the pieces a star shape hence the name.
